The movie theater has been getting a lot of our money

Last week we went to see Iron Man. This week we went to see The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian. Next week, we’ll likely go to see Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls. The family has decided there are at least three, if not more, movies they’d like to see in the very near future. So, I guess the movie theater will continue to gladly accept my money for the forseeable future. I’m not sure that’s a good thing.
In regard to the Prince Caspian movie, without giving any spoilers, I do have to say I enjoyed the movie, as a whole. I have read the books, so I was pretty familiar with what the storyline was supposed to be. I was surprised at how different, and yet the same, the movie was.
One of the big differences between the two is the time at which the Pevensie children meet Prince Caspian. They don’t meet him until nearly the end of the book, but they meet him at the beginning of the movie. There’s also a scene in the movie with the White Witch that wasn’t in the book, but you’ll have to see the movie to determine if it was worth being added.
Even though it didn’t stick as closely to the book as The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, it was still an enjoyable film. My youngest absolutely loved it, often calling out loud enough for the crowd to hear. (Luckily we went on a week night, so there weren’t as many people to get upset at him. HA!)
From what I understand, they’re in the process of filming the third movie, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. In fact, from what I was reading, it should be released May 7, 2010. Man, that’s a LOOOONG time to wait for the next movie. If it’s anywhere near as good as the last two, I’m sure it will be worth the wait.
If you haven’t gone to see the movie yet, be prepared to deal with some intense moments during the fighting scenes. If you have younger children, it may not be suitable, but that is a decision you will have to make.
Be blessed, and have a great Thursday!!
