His Favorite Daughter

Last week seemed like such a long week. I guess it seemed so because I had to be out of the house so much. Dentist appointments, trips to buy car parts, regularly planned running around. It seemed like I wasn’t at home at all. And now, today, we get to relax a little bit. I hope.

So, I have to ask. Has everyone started working on their taxes? We’ve actually gotten ours done already and will get our rebate at the end of the month. I still haven’t convinced my husband that it’s better to NOT give the government a no-interest loan by having his W-2 filled out the way it is, but he likes getting a rebate at the end of the year.

Personally, I’d rather have that money in my pocket all year long where we could use it. I guess he likes having a lump-sum at some point.  It would be different if they were putting all that we pay extra in taxes into a savings account or something, but you KNOW that’s not going to happen!

Speaking of taxes, what do you think about the “tax stimulus package?” We’re not holding our breath about getting anything. I’ve heard lots of stories about WHO qualifies, whether or not they’re going to give the “bonus” to the illegals, etc. I figure if I don’t look forward to it, I won’t be disappointed if it doesn’t materialize.
