Random thoughts of one seeking her place in the worldPosts RSS Comments RSS

I can’t believe it’s November 1st already. Where has the year gone? It seems like just awisteria.jpg few days ago it was the beginning of summer. Wow, this year has flown by! Before you know it, you’ll blink, and it’ll be Christmas. Then it will 2008!

The old saying says, “Time flies when you’re having fun.” I think that’s wrong. Obviously, if that were the case, children wouldn’t whine and cry about how long it takes for their birthday or Christmas to get here. “Mom, when will it be Christmas? Eight months is too long. I can’t wait that long.” I’m sure you’ve heard it, too.

When you’re children, your life is all about having fun. You don’t have to work for a living, you don’t have the responsibility of taking care of your family. You don’t have to worry about not having enough money to pay the bills. There are so many things about childhood that make it much more fun that being an adult.

So, if time flies when you’re having fun, and you have fun when you’re a child, why does it seem to zoom by when you’re an adult? I don’t think I’m having fun. When did I have fun? Did I have fun? Based on my life, I have decided that saying is wrong, and I wish someone would come up with a new one. Maybe we should say that “Time flies as you get older” which is certainly the case.

Oh, and speaking of time, don’t forget that Daylight Savings Time ends Saturday night/wee early hours of Sunday. Why don’t they just adjust the time 1/2 hour each way and get it over with? I’m tired of my circadian clock being messed up twice a year.

Well, I’ve fussed enough today. I’m still working on the report, but found out that it needs MAJOR revisions. I guess that means that I know what I’m going to be doing today.

Have a blessed Thursday! I’ll type again tomorrow. :)
