I’m on a roll!

Today was not a good day for me and the boys. They refused to do what they were supposed to do, and I had to get mean with them. In fact, one of the kids mouthed quietly to the other, “Mama’s being mean.” Well, so be it. Sometimes a Mama just HAS to be mean. Today was it for me.

I struggled with the kiddos all day, I didn’t get any writing done (despite having two looming deadlines), and I was pretty grumpy when hubby got home. (Poor guy, as if working with a bunch of crab apples during the day isn’t bad enough, he had to come home to one, too.)  Thankfully things changed after we ate dinner.

Of course, the kids are complaining because there’s nothing to do without the TV. They’ll get over it. I have. hehe  They’ve been listening to and practicing with the CD for the Christmas musical at church. To tell you the truth, I don’t know if I can handle another 3 weeks of this. It’s worse than Chinese water torture!!  Oh well, this too shall pass.

Anyhow, back to the writing . . . . Before dinner, I had maybe two paragraphs written. I got on a roll and whipped out seven - yes I said SEVEN - articles! I just know it was a “God-thing” because I couldn’t think and write to save my life. It sure is great when He drops the inspiration to get things done into my mind and heart. It would be nice if it would happen more often, but I’ll take it when He chooses to give it, and be thankful for it!

So, for this one assignment, I have 13 more articles to write before my deadline. Then I have two reports to write. I’m hoping to be completed before we go to my parent’s house for Thanksgiving. That way I can relax and enjoy myself instead of being stressed about a deadline. Besides, if I can get done with all of the work before Thanksgiving, I’ll beat my deadline by a couple of days, and will be a happy Mama instead of a mean one.
