His Favorite Daughter

When we stopped by Walmart this morning, someone was giving away free kittens. Being the softy that I am, we brought Comet home. She’s an eight-week-old kitten, who looks surprisingly like our current cat, Waysaw. The only difference is that she’s a long-hair and long-tail cat, while Waysaw is short hair and bobbed tail. Here’s the problem, Waysaw has decided she doesn’t like some young upstart encroaching on her territory, and is being VERY vocal about the situation. She’s also getting mean.  She used to be just crazy, now she’s being crazy and mean - NOT a good situation.

What’s so bad is that the crazy cat, instead of taking it out on the kitten, has decided to be mean to US! Can you believe that?! She’s almost bit me once, has attacked the youngest, and is generally hissing and growling and being downright rude! I guess she’ll just have to get over it ‘cuz the kitten is here to stay.

I know in a few days “her majesty” will get over the addition to the family and they’ll be best of friends. Until then, though, we have to deal with the noise and keep an eye on them. It should be an interesting couple of days. Sigh.
